Integrated image management
Today, technological developments go hand in hand with the ever increasing differentiation of medical health care. The rapid, seamless communication of medical findings and diagnostic data is a fundamental element of patient management in health care forms straddling different sectors. The DICOM Standard, the field-proven system for exchanging digital images in medicine, which has been used worldwide for many years (DICOM: Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) allows networks to be built up encompassing various locations, which results in noticeable costs savings for all those involved and also constitutes a technology with a bright future.
Teleradiological solutions or network solutions encompassing various locations ensure that all relevant patient data, including images produced by X-ray, ultrasound or CT equipment, are made available to different locations such as medical practices, clinics or institutes. At the heart of such a solution lies an integrated image management system available both throughout the clinic and over the internet. This results in improvements in diagnosis and the prompter implementation of therapies.
A further advantage of integrated image management is the possibility of building up an individual archive for documenting and storing image findings on a long-term basis (ultrasound, endoscopy, radiology , CT etc.). Further advantages afforded by this system include the rapid access to images within a particular medical practice or clinic during for example treatment or when making appointments and the incorporation of information into referral or patient portals.
Apart from classical point-to-point teleradiology, Rüegge Medical Systems also offers network solutions for large-scale teleradiology networks, which have already been successfully applied in networks linking up several hundred users.
